The Timbre Series is designed to reveal the tonal character and texture of a recording. Each model is developed using a range of wood housings and refined internal components, balancing accuracy and musicality to create a presentation that feels both detailed and expressive.

Timbre cartridges feature carefully matched diamond and cantilever combinations, paired with high-purity OCC copper coils and selected wooden bodies. Each design is tuned to deliver a distinct voice while maintaining the control and consistency expected across the series. Available in both high and low output versions, each is offered in stereo and mono configurations.

Grado’s cartridge design is rooted in our patented flux-bridger moving iron principle, a path we chose after pioneering and patenting the stereo moving coil cartridge. While moving coil designs have become widely regarded as a reference, Timbre Series cartridges demonstrate that a different approach can deliver resolution and musicality with greater stability, output flexibility, and long-term consistency.
