The Platinum3 and Sonata3 models use a modified four piece OTL cantilever technology achieving a 10% tip mass reduction over the Prestige series and ultra-high purity long crystal (UHPLC) oxygen free copper wire in the coils. The Platinum3 model uses Grado's specially designed elliptical diamond, and the Sonata3 model uses Grado's specially designed nude elliptical diamond.

I have had my Sonata 3 for about 3 weeks now. I also have a Rega Ania and a AT33MONO. This cart is in class of its own. The bass and the mids are juicy warm. The cartridge presents a massive deep sound stage. I have about 30 hours on it now and have to say it gives the Ania a run for its money. The Ania sounds more tight and quick with information which can get fatiguing. The Sonata is an addictive all day listening cartridge. I found it does wonders with classic rock, folk, jazz, pop, and even metal. I still prefer the Ania for orchestral but for chamber the Sonata is beautiful. I couldn't be more pleased. I may tried up in the future. Glad to be in the Grado Family now.

I am so enjoying rediscovering my vinyl and how amazing it sounds with my new Sonata3 cartridge, completely different experience! So pleased!
Grade Sonata 3
I received my order and I saw the quality and the care given. IIt was inside a small wooden case cushioned by foam. I had one before and was not disappointed to see that they kept the quality of their product. Looking forward to years of enjoying the music of my time.
The Sonata sounds better than the Platinum3 I used previously, which
makes sense. I was surprised, however, that I find it superior to my Hana ML.
