The story of the SR80x holds a special place in not only our ears, but the ears of hundreds of thousands of listeners. The first pair was built in 1991 and we wouldn’t be here today without it. With its soundstage, world renowned mid-range, and speed, the SR80x is worthy of being the longest running Grado headphone.
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't have these on. Whether I'm sitting at the computer or riding my bike trainer in the basement. They're oblivious to sweat performance wise and the cushions can be cleaned easily. I now have two pair, that's how great these are. Did I mention American made also? Gotta love them.

A shadow of its former self.
I retired my 26 year old Grado SR60, and bought the SR80. What happened? AM radio quality highs, no bass…awful.

Very Satisfied with Purchase
I’ve had Grado headphones for years: from ‘i’ to ‘e’ and now ‘x’. I really love the ‘x ‘series. The padding on the headband is a nice addition and the upgraded cable is a blessing. The tuning and sound is much less fatiguing and peaky. It still has that special Grado sound though that I’ve loved through the years. The shopping experience itself was very easy and smooth with a solid variety of purchasing options. I bought the SR80x and will be upgrading to the 325s soon.and I’ll be buying directly from Grado like this purchase.
