I got these headphones almost on a whim (thank you DankPods) and was expecting a highly treble focused sound. However, while the highs are incredible and emphasized (as promised), the bass is also very present and extremely clear. Comparing to my Sony studio monitors, I think these have a similar tuning, but the SR80x’s have way more detail across the frequencies.

The soundstage is also the best i’ve ever heard. They sound so open that when I plugged them into my console for the first time, I had to take them off to make sure the audio switched from speakers to the headphones. The comfort is also wonderful. As other reviewers have recommended, I bent the headband to fit my head, and now they just rest on my ears, barely any pressure, which makes them feel comfortable even after a few hours.

I do have two complaints. Firstly, the unit did arrive with some sort of industrial solvent/spray paint smell, but this was quickly fixed by leaving them in front of a fan for a few hours. Secondly, i could never get the wires above the split connector fully untwisted (a removable cable would make their design perfect!). Both of these are non-issues in terms of usability, as the smell dissipates and I got used to the cables mild twist.

Overall, I love these headphones, and they absolutely crush my other similarly priced sets. I find myself reaching for them over my other sets for gaming, movies, videos, and of course music.

What can I say, there are somethings that are just amazing. When I put the SR80x on and listened to music for the first time, I wondered why I did not get these years ago. I have some of the top rated headphones and IEM's and now they sit since I use the SR80x most now. Thank you Grado for making the best headphones

This is 3rd SR80x that I purchased (1 for my wife) 2 for me.

Have been using cheap headphones from work for the past few years and switching to these Grado SR80X headphones has been awesome. Much more clear and immersive sound, and comfortable fit.

my husband loves his Grado headphones, so when our dog accidentally got a hold of his last pair (very sad day) i was more than happy to buy him a new pair. the quality of both the product and sound are amazing.
