I have probably a few thousand 78rpm records and am slowly putting then on this site: https://archive.org/details/@randy595
The "Internet Archives" for 78 rpm .
For me the Grado 78E serves this purpose well, I am broke and it took me awhile to save the money, but now that I was able to get a new stylus I want to start putting more 78`s on the site as I can. This early music needs to be preserved in my opinion. As for the recordings, I don or use any noise reduction or click/pop removal. But I clean the records and record them in a mono 192,000 htz project rate and 32 bit float with Audacity. I have no complaints with the Grado 78E and it can take a lot of worn/scratchy record abuse. Thank you for the quick service in sending the 78E to me.

78E replacement stylus
I need to get another headshell before I can try it out. Looking forward to it. I expect the elliptical shape will ride higher it the grooves of my records producing a clearer sound.

Cartridges & Stylii
I have been working in the electronics field since 1966, first as a 16 year old and later, 22 years in the Navy. And, I am still at it. Your cartridges are exceptional. I have been recommending them to friends, especially the 78 rpm units. I personally chose the Grado Prestige 78RPM Model 78E. I have been doing a lot of 78 rpm polka record restoration. The 78E works beautifully for this purpose as it rides a bit higher up on the groove sides. I also found another benefit using this cartridge. I have a very early LP that was playing with a lot of distortion on my Empire turntable with a Audio Technica cartridge. The stylus was riding down towards the bottom of the groove. I decided to try it on my Garrard with the 78E installed. Viola! It plays with zero distortion!
