Exceptional quality, but sound a bit un-natural
I've "heard" a few cheaper-grade Grado head-phones through my life, also some studio Yamaha, some exotic Euro-audiophile brands, old classic reference SONY - the Grado quality puts them all to shame.
However, I must say I was surprised to "hear" in my new SRx1 through all that expensive fancy wood, a very un-lifelike sound reproduction - a kind of echo, though subdued and faint, giving only a touch of sound color - not what I expected - I can "hear" the head-phones themselves a very slight bit. I'm not sure I like that yet, maybe it will grow on me. It isn't necessarily bad, only un-real in some subtle way, I wish I could describe it better than that. In any case, I was looking for as real as I can get, and was sure a "reference" Grado would be the closest to that possible for me without spending obscene $ or learning how to build my own head-phones. At this price, I must give it one less star than perfect.

Deeper Soundstage with New Driver
As a Grado owner of several models, I was excited to try the RS!X. The new driver improves the sound stage of the headphone. The headphone provides the listener with the full range of sound that Grado users enjoy. The headphone is comfortable and light. The headphone cables was twisted right out of the box. Some things never change.

Prestine and Detailed Sonics
I have never thought that one day id purchase cans at this price range but after reading so many reviews and blogs I had to pull the trigger , i already had my eyes on these for years , glad I purchased.
Referenced a couple mixes I was working on and was able to improve the overall feel and stereo image so well and with minor adjustments.
With these you can hear every increment of changes during a mix.
Thank you Grado family , as A Brooklyn native I am proud to own a pair of these lovely tings.
