Customer Reviews
I purchased the SR325s to replace an SR80 set that I've been using for decades. The old SR80s worked great but after several decades of constant use the cord finally gave way. I decided to upgrade to the 325s and I am not disappointed.
The only complaint that I have is the new cord is cloth wrapped which will likely make it more durable but also makes it stiffer. I sometimes have the right speaker cut out because of the force being exerted on the headphone jack on my USB Audio Interface. It was an inexpensive interface so I assume the issue is in the socket and not the head phones plug but it's exaggerated by the stiffness of the cord.
That being said I used to have a high end sound system long ago for my SR80s which I no longer have. These SR325s definitely sound better than my SR80s on this cheap Audio Interface but not as good as my old ones did on the high end system so I am sure I am only listening to a fraction of what these are capable off putting out. I guess that I now need to invest in a better audio interface to see what these can really do.
I used to have Bjork's Vespertine album on DVD Audio with a high end player that converted it to an almost true analog waveform. That album is very spatial and directional sound. With these head phones if you close your eyes while listening to that album it's a little disorienting. I almost get motion sick and I don't get motion sick in vehicles. I'm not saying it as a bad thing just that these head phones are so precise and clear especially with respect to directional sound you can almost physically feel movement with sound that moves around a lot.
Not sure if that helps but it's the best that I can do trying to use words to describe how these sound.
Had to order more comfortable foam ear pads
The best!
