Prestige Series, SR 80 e headphones, purchased six, eight years ago? A post on the "Plastic Gimbal Ring" had broken, so that the left ear-piece was only attached on one side. I was dismayed. Best sounding headphones I have ever owned. Went back to the store I bought them from to inquire about a remedy. No longer under warranty, I was on my own. They gave me a phone number for Grado Labs and suggested I give them a call. I went online, visiting the Grado Labs website and noticed a parts tab. Lo and behold, a new Plastic Gimbal Ring for $10. So I ordered two, didn't have to pay to ship my headphones to them to "repair" and then pay to have them shipped back. And now I have a spare.

Plastic Gimbal
Confused why these are made of plastic. Had a befuddling moment when my headphones fell off my head. Hopefully this one last longer than a few months

Great service but plastic is not adequate for this part
Plastic is no good for this purpose, especially on such an otherwise high quality product. Any time you have plastic and metal connecting, the metal will break the plastic. My plastic gimbals wore out in no time. I've had many headphones and these are literally the only ones to break. Please just make it out of metal, which cannot cost more than a dollar, and would last a lifetime.
